Margret Schellberg advises on energy law and public commercial law. In energy law, she advises companies at all stages of the value chain. A large part of her work is advising grid operators on regulatory issues. Another focus is advising clients on renewable energy law.

Oftentimes, issues under civil law and insolvency law arise from energy law matters. Margret Schellberg has many years of experience in advising on these issues. She also represents clients in administrative and civil court proceedings.
In the area of public commercial law, she mainly advises on issues of public procurement and concession law, often with reference to the energy sector. In contentious matters, she represents clients before public procurement tribunals and the civil courts.

Biography

Margret Schellberg is a founding partner of LEITFELD Rechtsanwälte. Previously, she was an associated partner at Flick Gocke Schaumburg in Bonn and worked as an attorney at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in the "Antitrust and Energy Law" sector group from 2008 to 2016. During this time, she was seconded to clients on several occasions and advised them in their day-to-day energy law business.

Margret Schellberg studied law at the University of Bonn and completed her legal traineeship, which included stints at the Federal Network Agency and the German Embassy in Washington. She worked as a research assistant at the University of Bonn (Centre for European Integration Studies) and completed her doctorate there.

Publications and references

Margret Schellberg publishes articles and contributes to various commentaries on energy law. She is recommended by JUVE and Legal 500 as a lawyer in energy law. According to the Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers ranking, she is one of the best lawyers in energy law in Germany.
